In addition to fulfilling legal obligations, our passionate Board Members are responsible for providing leadership, corporate governance, guidance and direction to the organisation. They contribute to the our culture, strategic focus, effectiveness and financial sustainability. They also serve as ambassadors and advocates for Taking Paediatrics Abroad and global child health.
PETER RICHARDS

Peter is an experienced commercial leader and management consultant, with a background in finance and accounting. For 10 years he ran several FMCG businesses as CEO and as regional head responsible for multiple businesses and markets, before taking this experience into various consulting assignments. Peter is passionate about children’s health and education and has had a rewarding focus in this area in his consulting career. As part of this, he was a business advisor to the Sydney Child Health Program from 2015-2017.

DR KATHRYN CURROW

A paediatric doctor, medical educator and leader, with broad ranging Australian and international experience, Kathryn is dedicated to furthering improvements in the
health and well-being of children and young people in Australia and globally.
In her early career, Kathryn worked as a GP for 12 years. She then worked in paediatric emergency as a senior CMO. She was the Executive Principal of the Sydney Child Health Program (formerly the Diploma in Child Health) from 1997 to 2018.
Kathryn founded Taking Paediatrics Abroad in 2019 and continues as Managing Director today. She is recognised as a Global Goodwill Ambassador.
DR ROBERT HENDRIKS
DIRECTOR

Robert is trained as a Medical Doctor, holds a Master of Business, and is Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has led pharma, biotech, natural medicines and medical devices companies in countries as diverse as the Czech Republic, Chile, Greece, Switzerland, the USA, and Australia. He is currently the CEO of a Sydney headquartered, global natural healthcare company.
Robert enjoys working for purpose driven organisations and the idea of being able to contribute to saving children’s lives or making a significant impact on their quality of life makes him a passionate Board member.
Eugene Quah
DIRECTOR

Eugene is a corporate advisor and entrepreneur with a strong passion for international affairs and cross-cultural collaboration. With over 15 years of experience in consulting and business leadership across sectors such as education, training, energy, infrastructure, mineral exploration, and technology, Eugene has worked extensively across Australia and Asia.
At AFG Venture Group, Eugene assists mid-market firms with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and capital raising across diverse industries.
Eugene lived and worked in Myanmar for 12 years, where he learned Burmese and consulted on political and legal affairs. During this time, he founded a leading education business and a boutique consulting firm that guided both local and international companies through Myanmar’s complex business environment. He also served as a director of a mineral exploration company. Following the military takeover in Myanmar in 2021, Eugene returned to Australia with his family.
Eugene is passionate about solving challenging problems and creating value, particularly by leveraging data and technology such as analytics, automation, machine learning, and generative AI. He is keen to contribute to TPA’s mission of delivering critical paediatric care to underserved regions.
Sophia Katsinas
Sophia Katsinas manages global communications for the Macquarie Group Foundation, where she executes strategic internal and external campaigns to drive social impact at Macquarie Group. With local and global experience across corporate, non-profit and media sectors, Sophia previously worked in the global Press team at Human Rights Watch and as a freelance journalist in Greek community media.
She has a Bachelor of Media (Journalism and Communications) and International Studies (Honours) from UNSW Sydney, with her thesis focusing on the impact of social media in refugee camps, inspired by her observations while volunteering at Moria refugee hotspot in Lesvos, Greece. A Juris Doctor candidate at UNSW, she is committed to further strengthening her commitment to social impact, advocacy and communications in pursuit of a better future for all.
Suzie Koeppenkastrop
B.Comm/ LL.B. LL.M. GAICD
Suzie is a corporate lawyer with over 30 years experience as a legal adviser in Financial Services. Suzie has worked in local, APAC region and international roles and also has extensive experience as a Company Secretary and Governance executive. Suzie is pleased to contribute her experience and knowledge to assist TPA achieve its mission to help share expertise in paediatric care to prevent and control diseases, save lives and create a brighter future for children and young people in low-resource settings overseas and in Australia.
