Taking Paediatrics Abroad has facilitated a total of 229 international telehealth consultations since the program started in May 2020.Â
Australian Telemedicine Activities
Within Australia, Taking Paediatrics Abroad has introduced paediatricians to conduct telemedicine consultations with children and their families in Aboriginal Controlled Community Health Services in NSW in Moree and Coomealla.
This followed consultation with the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council and Aboriginal Controlled Community Health Services throughout NSW.Â
International Telehealth Activities
Telehealth sessions are conducted weekly. These sessions have helped to address the isolation exacerbated by the pandemic and accompanied by increased isolation for clinicians. A summary of telehealth sessions is below. Due to the overwhelming severity of COVID-19, telehealth sessions for Bangladesh and Vietnam were temporarily suspended from June to September.Â
